In April, FDS celebrated the Eid al-Fitr feast that ends the month of Ramadan. We then celebrated Passover using a Quaker Haggadah modified for children. We returned to our visits with nature by making a spiral in the field with our copious pinecones and visiting with our personal trees. We had a parents’ meeting to share ideas about how to make worship more meaningful to our children. We put out fresh tick tubes for the April/May season when nymphal ticks feed on field mice: they give the mice nice nesting material for spring! In May, we will continue our celebrations of nature and have an end-of-year celebration before we start FDS Summer Vacation during the months of June, July, and August. We will try to host occasional FDS Hikes for everyone in the meeting during the summer! Thanks to everyone for welcoming our children as they get to know us and get to know Quaker worship! Thanks to all the adults who have shared their talents and time with the children this year, and to everyone on the FDS Committee for helping make our FDS something our children care about. Thanks to all the parents for sharing your fabulous children with our meeting!
